In March 2013, the Dept. of Labor released new Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) regulations expanding its coverage for military families.  Employers should use these changes to update their FMLA policies to ensure that the military exigency leave, which jumped from five days to 15 days, and military caregiver leave provisions are incorporated into their policies to accurately reflect these amended regulations.  See http://www.dol.gov/whd/fmla/2013rule.
